Tudor Country House Restoration: Architectural Visualisation in Kent

Charles Roberts Studios produced architectural visualisation for the restoration of a Grade II listed Tudor country house in Kent. The house is believed to date in part to the 15th century, with later additions layered on over time. The brief was to show how it would appear once restored, for the owner, architects and heritage consultants working on the project.
The visualisation was developed from the architect's drawings, site photography and historical references. The timber framing, brickwork, rooflines and window proportions define the house's Tudor character, so these received particular attention. Brick tone, timber grain and roof surfaces carry natural variation, so the restoration reads as grounded in traditional materials and construction.
The house sits within a mature formal garden, with clipped yew topiary, structured planting and a thatched beehouse. The garden was modelled alongside the house, so the CGI shows the restoration within its landscape setting.
We also produced a CRS Reveal® before-and-after slider comparing the existing condition of the property with the proposed restoration. On a heritage project, where the changes are careful and often subtle, the slider makes the intended repairs and refinements easy to follow.
Lighting uses soft, natural daylight and restrained shadow, keeping the focus on the building's materials and setting. The visualisation and the CRS Reveal® comparison were intended to give the project team a shared view of the restoration to support design decisions and discussions with planning and heritage consultants.
