Mayfair Apartment: Interior CGI for a Grade II Listed Building

Charles Roberts Studios produced a series of photorealistic interior CGIs for a 5,222 sq ft apartment in Mayfair. The images were used during design and construction to communicate the intended finishes, and to market the apartment before it was complete.

The apartment is in a Grade II listed building, between Hyde Park and St James's Park. Original fireplaces, oak flooring, decorative cornicing and wall panelling were retained and restored, and the principal rooms have ceilings of around 4.5 metres. Within the period architecture, the interiors include underfloor heating, air conditioning, integrated Sonos audio and Lutron lighting.

We worked with the developer and interior designer, recreating the specified materials, finishes, furniture and joinery in detail. The aim was to show the interiors as designed, keeping the character of the original building alongside the new scheme. During design and construction, the images let the team review decisions before they were committed on site. For prospective purchasers, they showed the quality, atmosphere and specification of the finished apartment. The property subsequently secured an early off-plan sale.

Materials carry much of the scheme, so accurate reproduction mattered. The entrance hall uses Emperador marble with bronze inlay. Bespoke oak parquet runs through the dining room, reception spaces and kitchen, while the bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms use wool carpet and polished Italian stone. The bespoke bulthaup kitchen is finished in Jasmine white oak, with integrated Gaggenau appliances and a polished Neolith Calacatta island, worktops and splashbacks. The contrast between timber, stone, metal and natural light was central to the interior design, and to the imagery.

The apartment also has a formal dining room, a separate service kitchen, five bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, and a principal suite with its own dressing room. Bespoke joinery is by Oxfordshire-based Langstaff, and the handcrafted chandelier was supplied by Artemest.
