Savoir Beds Cutaway CGI

Savoir Beds commissioned a cutaway visualisation of a new bed design. The aim was to show, in a single image, the construction hidden beneath the surface.

What the cutaway shows

The CGI opens up the mattress and base to reveal each layer in turn: the hand-finished upholstery, the natural fillings, the springs and the timber frame. Every layer is shown in place, so the viewer can follow how the bed is built up from the frame to the top surface.

A view like this is very difficult to achieve with photography. Cutting into a finished bed would destroy it, and a physical sample would rarely show every layer clearly at once. In CGI, the section can be placed exactly where it best explains the construction, and the lighting set so that each material reads clearly.

The result lets the materials and craftsmanship behind the bed be understood at a glance, while keeping the refined presentation expected of a high-end brand. Cutaway views are one of the ways product visualisation can explain what photography cannot.
